Workshops & Events

The Teachability project at the University of Strathclyde has been funded by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council, and now the Scottish Funding Council, since 1999. The project's outline aim was to explore the scope for increasing accessibility to the curriculum through the process of examination by departments of the core and non-negotiable requirements of the courses which they offered. The Project also provided reference resource materials for the design and delivery of new courses as well as training in the use of the materials.

Context

Teachability Project 2005-06 staff development programme

In the final year of funding for the Teachability Project, the Council has asked the Teachability Team to devise a programme of activity that will prepare key staff to support others in their institution in using Teachability. The Council encourages HEIs to make use of the assistance available from Teachability, particularly in the light of its potential value in preparation for meeting the new duties of the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.

You are invited to nominate up to four staff to take part in the programme described in the outline at Annex A from the Teachability Project. There is an expectation that institutions will support the attendance of those nominated at the two one-day workshops and in carrying out a relevant piece of work in your institution, as described in Annex B of the outline. There is no charge for attendance at the events, or for the materials currently in preparation by the Project.

If you wish to take advantage of this offer please complete and return the enclosed nomination form at Annex B to:
